Why Look for Food and Environmental Intolerances?

We can promote health—even, in some cases, profound healing—by avoiding foods and other substances that can cause symptoms.

Symptoms that can be caused by food or environmental toxins include:

  • Digestive problems, including bloating and discomfort, gas, diarrhea, constipation

  • Colic and unexplained crying in infants

  • Joint pain

  • Anxious or depressed mood

  • Disturbed mental functioning

  • Insomnia

  • Headaches

  • Behavior problems in children

  • Skin problems—rashes, eczema, acne, and more

  • Asthma and upper respiratory problems

  • PMS and pain with menses

  • Susceptibility to colds and earaches

…and much more

Why Muscle Test?

Muscle testing is a non-invasive and low cost way to help us sort out what foods or toxins we might want to avoid.

Muscle testing covers a broader range of problems than standard allergy testing. Allergy testing of blood samples tests for antibodies to specific proteins. But not all intolerances are allergies. For example, in lactose intolerance, the body has stopped (or slowed down) the production of lactase, an enzyme critical to the digestion of milk sugar. This won’t show up on an allergy test, even if the symptoms are severe. But it will show up on a muscle test, along with intolerances created by autoimmune disturbance, an overburdened liver, and much more.
